Bindarrabi "Unplug to Reconnect" Meditation, Mindfulness & Yoga Retreat

Unplug and enjoy eight days of tranquility and rest at Bindarrabi Eco-Retreat, nestled amongst the forest, creeks and waterfalls adjacent to Koreelah National Park.

Experience simple, off-grid living, reconnect to nature, (choose from staying in a hut, glamping or camping) be treated to delicious vegetarian fare and enjoy a program of user-friendly meditation, mindfulness and yoga.

Dates

The retreat is held in the first or second week of September each year.

In 2025 it will run from Saturday 6 — Saturday 13, September.

What’s It Like On Retreat

If you’ve never been on a meditation or yoga retreat before, this is a great place to start. You’ll be gently eased into the practice with simple, user-friendly techniques and expert instruction. For those with more experience, there will be discussions designed to deepen and develop your practice.

The atmosphere will be friendly and light-hearted, and the schedule allows plenty of free time for you to spend as you wish.

You will also have the opportunity to join us on hikes through the forest, creeks and waterfalls and in a variety of practices designed to stretch, loosen and nourish the body.

With secluded waterfalls, unique dedicate meditation and yoga space, and delicious cuisine, Bindarrabi Eco-Retreat is an unspoilt paradise and perfect winter escape.

Experience a deep nature connection, enjoy walking, swimming, birdwatching and admiring the local wildlife.

Teachers & Approach

The retreat is led by two warm, friendly and experienced teachers: Matt Young, Director of the Melbourne Meditation Centre, and Agnes Gonfaus, from Natural Curiosity.

They’ve designed the retreat to be a perfect place for you to rest, relax and restore your wellbeing.

Whilst on retreat you won’t have to worry about a thing. All your needs will be taken care of and you’ll get to enjoy a simple, slower pace of life. Your meals will be lovingly prepared by our expert chefs and you’ll be able to take time out to sleep, read or enjoy the beautiful natural location.

The atmosphere on retreat is friendly and laid-back. You don’t have to get up before dawn, or sit in silence for hours on end. Nor will you have to endure long talks, a demanding schedule or bland food.

Matt and Agnes will be able to offer you valuable insights into your meditation practice. They’ll share unique an innovative approaches to meditation, introduce you to helpful concepts and techniques, and facilitate discussions in which you’ll be able to hear and learn from your fellow retreat participants.

You can choose between staying in a hut, glamping or camping in a delightful camping area and an ideal place to relax.

If you want to camp, please bring your own tent, sleeping mat and winter sleeping bag as it gets chilly at night. Sites are suitable for tent, trailer, campervan or caravan.

Please note that there is no mobile coverage and no internet onsite.

What To Expect

On retreat there will be periods of meditation, yoga, qi gong, talks and group discussion. Free time will be given for participants to walk, swim, read and take time off.

What’s included:

  • 7 nights accommodation.
  • 3 healthy and hearty vegetarian meals per day.
  • Tea and coffee station and a selection of fruit available all day.
  • Dinner on the day of arrival and breakfast on the day of departure.
  • Daily meditation (sitting and moving meditation).
  • Daily yoga (nourishing yin yoga and slow vinyasa flow with variations to cater for complete beginners as well as for more advanced practitioners).
    Integrative qi gong.
  • Meditation and mindfulness instruction for all levels.
  • Walks and hikes through the rainforest, creeks and waterfalls.
    Private space to practice meditation and yoga.
  • Yoga mat and props. You can bring your own if you prefer.
  • Private transport to and from Brisbane airport.

Not included:

  • Flights to and from Brisbane.
  • Extra snacks/drinks.
  • Travel insurance.
  • Optional treatments available onsite.

Meals

All vegetarian meals are provided, including a variety of teas, coffee and fruit.

We can cater for those with special dietary needs, including those requiring vegan or gluten, wheat and dairy-free meals.

Access

Bindarrabi Eco-Retreat is situated next to Koreelah National Park, with undulating paths.

Participants with injuries or fitness / health issues may like to take these details into consideration before booking.

Getting There

You will need to arrange flights to and from Brisbane airport.

Transport to and from Brisbane airport has been arranged (at no extra charge to you):

Transport to the retreat centre will depart Brisbane airport at 2pm on Saturday 6th of September 2025.

Transport will arrive at Brisbane airport around 12pm for departing flights on Saturday 13th of September 2025.
