Opening Hours

Our Meditation & Mindfulness for Beginners Courses run in St Kilda from 7:30 – 9:00pm on Wednesday evenings.

We also periodically run 3-hour How to Meditate Workshops on Sunday afternoons from 2 – 5pm, and Mindful Mini-Retreats on Sundays from 10am – 4pm.

Beginners Courses run downstairs in the Dogon Room.
Workshops and Mini Retreats run upstairs, in the Jibasso Studio.

Finding us in St Kilda

The African Drumming studio is a distinctive and welcoming space on St Kilda Road.

You’ll find the studio on the left side of the road (heading away from the city) between Alma Road and Inkerman Street.
You can usually park right out the front. There’s also plentiful parking on the opposite side of the road.

Easy access from:

We are easily reached from nearby Balaclava, Elwood, and St Kilda East, and we’re not far away from Prahran, Toorak, Armadale, Malvern, Albert Park, Middle Park, Port Melbourne, Elsternwick, Brighton and South Melbourne.

Public Transport Info

Getting to our St Kilda studio is straightforward, with several tram routes stopping just a short walk from our front door.

By Tram (Route 3 & 67): The most convenient stop is Stop 34 – Inkerman St/St Kilda Rd. From there, it is less than a 2-minute walk to the studio.
By Tram (Route 16 & 96): If you are coming from the beach side or the city via Fitzroy Street, get off at Stop 132 – St Kilda Station/Fitzroy St. It is a pleasant 5-minute walk from there via the corner of Grey Street.
By Train: The nearest station is Balaclava (Sandringham Line). It is roughly a 12-minute walk (approx. 1km) down Inkerman Street to reach us on St Kilda Road.
By Bus: The 606 and 623 buses also service the surrounding area, stopping nearby on Barkly Street and Inkerman Street.
